Charles Dickens coined the term, “bored” to describe a feeling that almost all of us have felt at some point or another. It’s when external stimuli fail to satisfy and we are left to our own devices for entertainment. This state can lead to such evil entities as ear worms(those songs that get stuck in your head), or some of our greatest creative achievements. In fact, on an evolutionary scale boredom may have lead us to explore and populate the globe, and may in small part be responsible for the curiosity that is sending us to the stars. This article from BBC.com explores the idea in a bit more detail. And remember, if you ever feel as though your getting bored, you can always read more comics.
